Welcome to Functional Thermal Lab at College of Engineering, Peking University

We are a research lab dedicated to the fundamental understanding of energy carrier transport through micro/nanostructures and its application for sustainable energy technologies. Our work combines theory and simulation with experiments to solve practical problems.

Our Research

At Functional Thermal Lab, we are committed to advancing the field of sustainable energy technologies through our research. Our team utilizes a combination of theoretical models, simulations, and experiments to understand energy transport at the micro/nano-scale. We are passionate about using our fundamental understanding to solve practical problems and create more efficient and sustainable energy systems.

Latest Publications

Qiao, Shuo, Deyu Li, and Lin Yang*. "Heat Flow Guiding and Modulation by Kinks in a Silicon Nanoribbon." Nano Letters 23.19 (2023): 8860–8867.

This paper describes our research on the efficient heat flow manipulation within kinked SiNRs through carefully controlling the kink angle and arm length, which leads to distinct trends in thermal conductivity as a function of kink angle.
